Two Marys

Two Marys Nature Preserve, combined with the Marianne Rees Nature Preserve, measures 1,300 acres and is located just three miles south of Fresh Tracks and is adjacent to the Comanche National Grassland, managed by the U.S. Forest Service. Two Marys has extensive prairie dog colonies and plans are underway to restore bison to it. In addition to prairie dogs, we regularly see coyotes, pronghorn, hawks, cottontail rabbits, prairie rattlers, bullsnakes, and horned lizards here. Songbirds that frequent prairie dog colonies are frequent visitors, including lark buntings and horned larks.
