Apr. 5 –Windy weather lately. No activity on FT or RRG today.
Apr. 10 – Checked FT and drove along west side of RRG. All okay
Apr. 15 – Wind has been blowing hard for several days. Yesterday, one side of the eagle nest blew out and the two babies fell out. Checked FT. They have been driving along the pipeline and put up new bright yellow post markers along it.
Apr. 19 – Checked RRG from road CC. nothing going on that I could see. There are new markers on the pipeline there also.
Apr. 23 – No activity on RRG - a big buck antelope ran across the road in FT in front of my pickup. On the way to FT, I saw deer, antelope, eagles, rabbits and ducks. A few wild flowers are starting to bloom, but it has been pretty cool.
Apr. 29 –Thru FT on road JJ and all along west side. By the cattle guard between Robbins and FT we saw four Swainson’s Hawks. Prairie Dogs on RRG have been cleaning out their holes, looks like lots of active holes – saw quite a few dogs out, but it was late as I came thru there on road DD.
Hundreds, or thousands of Robins and Bluebirds spend the winter here in the canyons. The bluebirds have left, most of the Robins are gone, but some stay here year around, many of the summer birds are back. I saw the first hummingbird about the middle of the month. That was early for them to return. This has been a cold and windy month.
