FRESH TRACKS AND RRG LOG – October 2009

Oct 2 – Checked Fresh tracks from all four sides and drove through on road JJ.  Pronghorn season hunting season starts tomorrow.  Since you do not have any no trespassing or no hunting signs up, I hung a no hunting sign on the cattle guard on road JJ.  Saw a young badger on the east edge of road JJ just east of the old windmill tower and site of the old corrals.  Saw some hunters scoping the area out.  However, since we were in Fresh Tracks at the time they didn’t stop.  Also checked RRG out from the west side.  No activity there.

Oct 3 – Checked Fresh Tracks and RRG late this afternoon for hunter activity.  Did not see any hunters, nor did I see any Pronghorns – guess they are smart and are hiding!

Oct. – 11  Friday was the last day of Pronghorn season.  Have seen no hunters on either Fresh Tracks or RRG

Oct. – 18 Checked Fresh Tracks from east and west sides and drove thru on Road JJ.  No activity.  It was mid afternoon on a very warm day.  Saw very little activity – a few small birds but no other wildlife.  There was a hard freeze last week so all the wildflowers are gone – the only green is the cedar trees and the yucca.  Saw RRG from east and south sides.  No activity there either.

Oct. – 28  Checked both Fresh Tracks and RRG – no activity.  Did see two small bunches of Pronghorns east of Fresh Tracks.
