Close your eyes and envision a vast landscape dominated by endless grass, huge sky, and roaming herds
of animals of all types. Birds of prey cry overhead, as their search for food continues, gliding gently
on the air currents above. As far as the eye can see is nothing of human influence. This is not Africa, but
the Great Plains of America; an American Serengeti if you will. Of course, this is before the overgrazing,
the massacre of the animals, and the intensive agriculture...
We are the Southern Plains Land Trust, and we envision a new beginning for
the Great Plains.
